2018: February 2018

Finally took Crosby outside to watch the garbage truck in action. He shook & furrowed his eyebrows & grunted the entire time we were outside and even when we came back in.

Picked up Nora's special heart plate she made during her January special night with Mom.

Crosby still loves coloring.

Andlie & Nora got hair cuts! Both cut several inches off!

Crosby found a new "Crosby sized perch" in the fridge.

Superbowl Sunday! Lazy day (ditching stake conference) at home filled with lots of good food (pulled pork, veggie tray, homemade queso/bean dip, Reese's skillet cookie). Bryce also joined us for the fun! Lazy day = blankies, Legos, big blocks, and swings.

Crosby discovered that he loves the same monster truck song that Hazey loved when he was his age.

Nora & Crosby became [better] friends. Every time she stood against the wall for a picture, he followed and stood smack dab next to her. This is something new he's observed and learned recently.

It got warm enough to walk to the school to pick up the big kids and play at the park on the way home. (Only for a couple days.)

Crosby fell IN LOVE with FaceTiming Mandy & her doggies.

Parent teacher conference!

Andlie:

Supposed to be reading 100 WPM. Is reading 156.

Excellent behavior.

Perfect writing and above average on math.

Quite far above average on reading accuracy & fluency and retelling stories & comprehension.

One tiny area to work on: uncontrollable giggling with friends.

Haze:

Is reading 106 WPM.

Excellent behavior.

Much improved writing and WAY above average on math and spelling.

Extraordinarily far above average on reading accuracy & fluency and retelling stories & comprehension.

A few sickies at our house, but well enough to make a last minute trip to Cedar City to see Piano Guys in concert! Andlie & Haze's very first concert! Emmy tended Nora & Cros.

Thunderbird Gardens with Grama & Grampa & Bret! (Too cold to stay too long.)

Visited Grama's work and got to hold a turtle! (Andlie's dream come true!)

Snapped a pic on the same corner of the couch where we had our first kiss in September 2005.

Went "heart attacking" to our neighbor's house for Valentine's FHE.

Crosby found his pockets.

I continued to make (and love) checklists!

Valentine's Day! Decorations, flowers from Mom & Dad for the girls & balloons for the boys, Valentine boxes & Valentines for friends, Krispy Kreme, "Mom Pass" on homework, heart shaped dinner!

Bryan & I exchanged gifts. He had flowers sent to our house during the day with an amazing love note attached and then brought home a Camel Bak water bottle and a handwritten card (my FAVORITE gift). I gave him a brand new handmade quilt to replace the one I made for him before we were even engaged in December 2005.

I took Andlie on a surprise lunch date to Arby's (her choice) without any other kids and then drove around & visited with her.

Me & Nora played copy cat.

Nora taught me the alphabet.

Andlie read books to Crosby.

Haze used his hair as a towel for his wet hands & make himself a mohawk!

Crosby used every opportunity to pull allllllll the wipes out of the bag and then acted like he was using them to clean or wipe his nose when he got caught.

Andlie finished her first basketball season!

Me & Nora took some selfies.

We got SNOW and went sledding!

Every time a prayer was said in our house, Nora found her way to my leg to hug it.

Nora got her first pair of high heels!!!!! And loved them!

Andlie finished all 316 pages of the book, "Wonder," and earned herself a copy of the movie!

Nora makes the same furrowed eyebrow face she made when she was tiny.

Haze made a comic book at school while the teacher was reading out loud to them!

I got a hair cut & color!

Mindy visited! It was also an impromptu visit since she meant to go to ID, but ended up staying the night & day in Orem because it was so snowy on the roads.

I took pictures at church.

Andlie made 36 looms bracelets!

Andlie's team, "The Flash Readers," competed in Battle of the Books at school. Me & Nora surprised her by going to watch.

Laundry day happened!

Andlie got her first cavity filled! She told me the laughing gas “made the chair vibrate (no) and made her arms and legs numb (no).” She thought her smile was hilarious and couldn't stop giggling.

Haze was a cute brother to Crosby. Crosby copied his every move when he went & got a blanket to watch the nighttime show with.

Andlie sold Bret one of her looms bracelets.

Mommy got a solid hour alone at home with Crosby while Nora was at play group. We read lots of books.

Andlie brought home a "culture worksheet." Apparently one summer I told everyone in the family, “Today is Shorts Day” and we all wore shorts. And also, “cow hood” = calzones.

We discovered Cosmic Kids Yoga on YouTube and fell in love!

Crosby turned in to a little boy and his looks showed it. He hates when things he likes disappear and makes a really cute confused face and throws his arms in the air.

Nora wanted to help with dinner, but didn't want to burn her face on the steam, so she used a hot pad to shield it.

Andlie was the best big sister ever.
